They say girls love the bad boys and for the most part of my dating career it has rang true. In Elementary school I liked the boys who were mean to me, as long as they had a nice smile, and even up until my last long term relationship my craving for a "bad boy" continued. As I age, however ( gracefully might I add) My cravings have started shifting from bad boys to witty intelects with emphasis on the witty. Blame The Office' Jim Harper, Arrested Development, Paul Rudd movies, and Jason Mraz for turning me onto the funny, not totally gorgeous guys. I mean if the smile is there so am I.
What "type" of guy do you crave? The mysterious, devishly handsome bad boy that gives your heart a wild ride or the stable bookwormish funny nerd that quotes Dwight from the Office?

I have to admit that I definitely go for the "bad boy" type of guy. Its usually not my intentions to go for them, but there's just something about them thats leaves me wanting more. I tend to get hurt in the end, knowing the facts, but for some reason I never learn from the mistakes I made from choosing the previous Jerk.
ReplyDeleteIknow the feeling Pandora, some boys are addictive!
ReplyDeleteI don't go for the bad guys I go for the a!@ holes. The ones that cater to you and when they don't get what they want they just dump you. These are the charmers the ones that talk to you on the phone as you drive home to make sure you get there safely, they invite you to family occasions and send you flower with little stupid sayings. Eventually you get caught up in a whirlwind of charm that quickly diminishes into a tornado of emotions that leave you empty and destroyed.
ReplyDeleteI've spent the past half an hour reading your blogs and laughing at myself. I seem to be in the complete opposite situation of you my dear. I'm engaged... and feeling like I'm missing out on the butterflies of first dates and the nerves of being really into someone and hoping that they feel the same way. Or even the "who NEEDS a guy" nights with girl friends (at home watching movies and cooking brownies or out on the town shaking it.) I finally have what I've thought I wanted for the past 23 years of my life and I find myself just wishing I could go back. Everyone has some idea of where they want to be down the road... but the trip.... is far too amazing to not be appreciated. I've had to learn that the hard way. So I will sit here and continue to read your blogs (although very entertaining) living vicariously through you. Good luck on your journey hun. I know some amazing guy is out there just waiting to meet you.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much bcuzuknowme.. congrats on your engagement! :) I know most of the readers here ( including myself) can't wait to be there someday, and I agree, the road there is pretty awesome so far. I will make sure to give you a lot to read and I'm flattered and excited you'll be a continuous reader!

ummm... i'm all about the guy with the sassy since of humor. someone playful, but is a good mix of chaos and lazy. i have to admit i love a little ego in a man. not cocky, but confident in who he is. i mean after all isn't that what many men say they are attracted in too?? A confident woman who knows who she is??
ReplyDeleteI have a snappy sense of humor and like it when a guy does. I don't need things to always be polite and sugar and spice.... I like playful banter and animated debates about things.
A healthy dose of both bad boy and good is what I would say. No squares, but no devils too!
great post!
